All of our homes are designed to qualify as High Performance Homes according to the guidelines established by Energy Star and E-Star. (Subject to customer changes)
Energy Star is a federal program run by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Energy Star establishes energy efficiency standards for a wide variety of consumer products including homes. Homes that meet these criteria are authorized to wear the Energy Star label.
E-Star is a department of the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority. In addition to promoting energy efficient housing throughout the state, one of E-Star's primary functions is to train the testers who go into the field and to actually evaluate the homes. It is E-Star who determines whether a home meets the efficiency standards that have been established at the national level by Energy Star.
