Wolf Creek: We've changed our second story to a trussed roof to facilitate increased head room for a larger master bedroom, bath and walk-in closet. This also enables us to swap the master bedroom with the two main level bedrooms for main level living if desired. We've also added a six foot area between the kitchen and garage for a main level laundry/mud room and a walk-in pantry.
Black Bear: New for the 2003 Parade of Homes, this home is a real winner! We listened to the parade visitors and added a gable dormer to the master bath area adding almost 100 square feet. We also created the "II" version of this model: an attachment area including a laundry and mudroom leading to the two-car garage with attic storage. Their is also a 4' Great Room/Dining Room extension now available!
Crestone: We've added a 48 square foot bumped-out gable porch entry to facilitate the stair run and provide a more interesting exterior look!
Columbine: We re-designed this model to include a sunroom off the master bedroom and 9' ceilings throughout the main level. There is also a "II" version available on this model which increases the master bath size and adds a laundry/mud room area leading to the garage.
Sunlight: A major re-design of this model has turned it into a smaller alternative to the popular Red Mountain model. The layout is similar to the Red Mountain but without a loft, and the entire roof is a truss system helping to keep the cost in line. There is a "II" version of this model available with an attached garage.
Little Bear: By incorporating the laundry room into the mud room area we were able to enlarge the master bath while still keeping the laundry on the main level. We re-located the kitchen cabinets to the outside walls which enabled us to leave out the wall next to the stairs, creating a more open feeling between the kitchen and the great room.
Red Cloud: We re-designed this model by adding a large covered porch at the front entry including an atrium style entry door with an eyebrow transom window above the door to create more light and view possibilities in the great room.
Cottonwood: The Cottonwood is a one level version of the popular Red Mountain model. By eliminating the loft and changing to a scissors truss system over the great room, kitchen and dining room we have kept the essential elements of main level living while lowering the cost.
TECHNICAL ADVANCEMENTS
Roof Insulation: We've been able to increase our raftered roof insulation from R-38 to R-47 at no additional cost! Years ago the best we could do in this 12" space was R-30. Then, with high density fiberglass, we offered an R-38 insulation value. Now, with the "Optima Blow-in-Blanket" fiberglass system, we can reach R-47 and still maintain venting!
Window Flashing: Grace Vycor Flashing Tape is now standard around all of our windows to ensure a tight fit.
View PAC Windows: Our popular View PAC window set has been changed to combine the large center rectangle with the 4' triangle at the top. This opens up the view even more from the loft level. At the same time, these windows have been upgraded to the Milgard Classic Series. Also, a NEW view window package is now available featuring 8' doors under a new trap window combination.
