ABOUT SIPerior Designs and Turnkey Construction

Bob and Monte Houseman started building and remodeling homes in 1978. They have lived and worked in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado for the past 15 years. It has been during their time in Colorado they found the need for building energy efficient homes. The colder weather, costs of heating, cost of materials and saving the environment's resources, all attributed to their belief in the SIP system of building. The Housemans are active in their local Teller County Home Builders Association. They were honored with the Builder of the Year Award in 2006 and Monte served as President of TCHBA in 2008.

The majority of their homes have utilized the SIP System. Turnkey Construction first met Ken Matthews of Building Alternatives in 1996. They have built over 40 of his SIP Home Designs during the past 15 years including a partnership participation in three Parade Homes in the Woodland Park, Colorado area.

In addition to Matthew’s home packages, Turnkey Construction has built many custom SIP homes as well. Their son Rob joined the team in 2001 and has been an asset to keeping with the standards of energy efficiency.

In March of 2011 Turnkey Construction purchased Building Alternatives and their SIP designed home plans and packages. It seemed the perfect fit to merge the two businesses.

Now we can offer both…the Materials Package and Construction Labor Package. A true “Turnkey” home!

Building Alternatives, Inc. was founded in 1985 by Ken Matthews. He offered alternatives to traditional forms of construction with particular attention paid to energy efficiency and the wise use of our precious resources. With this in mind, after several years of offering traditional and insulated log home building systems, he developed our current series of homes based on three principals:

1) The use of Standard Designs - to help reduce cost

2) Use a Superior Building System - to help achieve the above mission

3) A Pricing System that was quick, easy to understand and accurate in advance of the customer spending thousands of dollars for plans and bids.

During his time of ownership, Ken Matthews constantly improved his products and designs as technology and customer feedback directed him. He grew from an initial five designs to seventeen today. His designs have grown larger and more complex as his customers demanded more from him without losing the basic principles that had been his strength over the years. SIPerior Designs and Turnkey Construction strongly believes in these principals and plan to grow by including new and updated floor plans, adding more "standard" available options and continual technological advances. We are using new drafting software to take advantage of 3-D modeling technology that can better illustrate what our homes will look like when finished. The doll house floor plan view will soon be standard on all our models.

SIPerior Designs and Turnkey Construction has always believed that Affordability and Value go hand in hand, or at least they should. Any product can be made "cheaper" but this rarely makes it a better value. You may pay less up front and end up paying more for it over the life of the building. As is the case with the utility bills of a poorly insulated building. Also, the price you pay may not only be in dollars but also in the comfort level of your home.
